SAMMY KAGWE

Now over 10 years working with African Latitude, Sammy has been guiding clients extensively throughout Kenya.
A certified bronze Kenya Professional Safari Guide, Sammy is also an experienced mechanic.
He is a very keen enthusiast of the local flora & fauna.
Always friendly with a smiling face, Sammy has an enthusiasm to share his knowledge of the country with all our clients. Sammy's clients return on a regular basis.
Born in 1970 in Kikuyu, Sammy lives in this area with his wife & 2 children.

 

MICHEL LAPLACE-TOULOUSE

Born in France in 1957, Michel studied hotel management in France but soon escaped on sailing boats to the other side of the world. Until 1985 he was a skipper on charter boats in the Mediterranean Sea and the West Indies before discovering Africa.

Since then he has operated safaris in Sudan, Namibia and Zaire. He is creator and director of African Latitude and has designed some of the most daring adventure tours the company has ever offered. His knowledge of East Africa, its fauna, flora and all aspects of the local culture make travelling with Michel an enjoyable experience.

He speaks fluent English, French, Italian and Swahili.

 

LORENZO RIZZINI BISINELLI

Lorenzo was born in Verona Italy in 1965, and lived in Kenya when he was young. He went back to Europe for education where he graduated in electronics and management but kept coming back to Africa to visit his family.

He has travelled all over Europe and in Zimbabwe, South.Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, Senegal, Gambia and G. Bissau. When he is not guiding a safari he lives on a game ranch near Naivasha where he works as a consultant for organisation, collection and data analysis.

His hobbies are playing guitar, singing and computer programming. Lorenzo speaks fluent English, Italian, French, Spanish, German and Swahili.

 


ROSS WITHEY

Ross was born on 30th December 1974. He was brought up on a small farm at the edge of the Rift Valley on the slopes of Mount Kenya. His family is involved in education and small scale farming. He was educated in Kenya and went on to further his education at Plymouth University in England and Ball State University in the Mid West, USA, graduating with a BSc. in Management.

After university he experienced a diverse array of jobs all over the world ranging from dairy farming in South Island, New Zealand, to becoming a walking stick craftsman in Wiltshire, England.

Upon coming back home to Kenya, Ross has been involved in various aspects of the tourism industry, including managing Rusinga Island Lodge in Lake Victoria and guiding safaris in East Africa. Having been brought up in Kenya he is quite knowledgeable about the local people and their various cultures and he speaks the local swahili language. Ross has been guiding African Latitude safaris for almost a year and he has proved to be an invaluable asset to the company.
When not working he likes to travel. The last major expedition was from England to Kenya via Europe, Morroco, Mauritania, West Africa and Southern Africa to Kenya in a beaten up twenty-year old Land Rover, an amazing ordeal which took eight months.

Other than travel he is very much interested in wildlife and conservation, herpetology (the study of snakes), skydiving, scuba diving and most sports
