SPECIAL MIGRATION CAMP FOR WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY ENTHUSIASTS

MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE – 20th Sept. to 27th Sept. 2009

Towards the end of august  and early September the wildebeest migration reaches the northern end of the Masai Mara plains and the Mara River. Hundreds of thousands of animals mass together on the banks of the river, waiting for the right moment to cross. The spectacle is impressive, hundreds of wildebeest  throwing themselves down the steep bank and into the river where the hungry crocodiles are waiting. The crocodiles are quickly satisfied in the first few days. But the sheer number of wildebeest are almost More...danger to the animals themselves than even the predators.

Every year this show is played over again and again. Many film companies have recorded this spectacle and these images are familiar to most of us. But there is nothing like experiencing the real thing.

Every year we set up a camp for various photographers. We have done for some famous photographers like Michel Denis-Huot. Why not do like them?

From a comfortable base camp you will be able to follow the migration and spend the entire day taking photos. Each vehicle is a specially designed extended Land-cruiser with roof hatches and three rows of seat, which will take only 4 photographers. These vehicles are normally designed for 6 persons.

The maximum number of participants will be 12 photographers in three vehicles. Departure will be guaranteed with a minimum of 3 persons, at 6 and above we will have a PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER to lead you.

The camp will have a generator for recharging batteries. A mess tent will be set up for breakfast and evening meals. During lunch time we will organise a picnic close to your photographic location.

Your tent, with ample standing room will have two camp beds,  bed side table, kerosene lamps. Bush toilet and  hot showers will be available to wash off the dust.  See Comfort Camp for details.
